Fifth season of ‘Jorge Ramos en Vivo’ on Fox Sports en Español.

Fox Sports en Español announced that the fifth season of “Jorge Ramos en Vivo,” the live, hour-long interactive talk show hosted by renowned sports journalist and commentator Jorge Ramos, will kick off this Friday, August 3, at 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT. The resumption of Ramos’ twice-weekly program after a mid-summer hiatus will be followed on Saturday by the return of Fox Sports en Español’s exclusive telecasts of the Mexican Soccer League’s Torneo Apertura, when Jaguares and Atlante square off in their season opener at 7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m.PT.

Co-hosted by soccer experts Hernan Pereyra and Manuel Kun, “Jorge Ramos en Vivo” will once again be airing live each week on Mondays and Fridays in its usual 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT time slot. As in previous seasons, the Monday edition will review in depth the previous weekend’s top soccer games from around the world, while the Friday edition will look back at the week’s major events and preview the weekend’s hottest action. Both shows will include calls and e-mails from viewers around the country sounding off on the soccer topics of the day. The Friday program will also feature regular live interviews with soccer stars and newsmakers from around Latin America.

Foremost among the soccer competitions discussed on “Jorge Ramos en Vivo” will be the Mexican Soccer League, long a staple for U.S. Hispanic soccer fans and a cornerstone of Fox Sports en Español’s programming lineup. The network will feature 14 live and exclusive Mexican league matches during the Torneo Apertura season as part of a new three-year rights agreement with supplier Telered Mexicana S.A. Jorge Ramos and Hernan Pereyra will lead Fox Sports en Español’s commentary team on the games, which will feature defending Torneo Clausura champions Pachuca, perennial fan favorite Cruz Azul and other top Mexican clubs.

“The Mexican League continues to be by far the most popular soccer league among U.S. Latino sports fans, and we are proud to offer them live and exclusive coverage for the fourth year in a row,” said David Sternberg, executive vice president and general manager of Fox Sports en Español. “We’re confident that the combination of our Mexican League matches and our in-depth coverage of the league via Jorge Ramos en Vivo will not only provide our passionate viewers with the high-quality programming they’ve come to expect from Fox Sports en Español, but will also deliver huge dividends for our advertisers and sponsors looking to reach the coveted Hispanic male demographic.”
