Financial Services Education For Hispanics.
June 16, 2003
Recent survey results have shown that 75 percent of Hispanics are very concerned about their financial well being. To help families focus more on their finances, the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) and State Farm have teamed up to educate the Hispanic community with a new program, “Securing Your Family’s Future: A Personal Financial Guide for Latinos.”
“Securing Your Family’s Future” features a video that is available in English and Spanish. It is also supported by a workbook that teaches important aspects of financial services from checking and savings to life insurance and retirement savings, also available in either language. The video and workbook, which will be available in September, will be distributed through a collaborative effort of NCLR affiliates and State Farm agents.
“State Farm has the advantage of having more than 16,000 agents in communities throughout the United States,” says Jack Weekes, vice president of marketing at State Farm. “We can help provide this educational tool at the local level. State Farm is committed to the Hispanic community because we are a part of the community.”
