Fong Wins AOL Latino Fashionista.
August 4, 2007
AOL Latino announced Chicago native Anna Fong as the winner of Fashionista, the online reality design contest. The show, which debuted in early June, featured hundreds of fashion contenders competing to be the next top Latino designer. As part of the grand prize, Fong will design a gown for actress/model and former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres. Torres will wear the dress at Eduardo Lucero’s fashion show during this year’s Fashion Week in Los Angeles. Fong will also receive a spread in the fashion pages of People en Español.
A Chicago native of Guatemalan and Chinese dissent, Anna Fong graduated Columbia College Chicago in 2001 and moved to New York City to work in the fashion industry and hone her design skills. Fong has since returned to Chicago and later this year plans to launch her clothing line for Latinas, which will accentuate a Hispanic woman’s natural curves.
