Foster Farms ‘Road Show II’ Mobile Kitchen Targeting Hispanic.
June 8, 2002
In conjunction with a new Hispanic advertising campaign, Foster Farms continues its focus on reaching out to the booming Hispanic market with the creation of its second mobile kitchen specially designed to make appearances at Hispanic events throughout California. The Foster Imposters Road Show II launch celebration took place on Saturday, July 6th, 2002 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Jon’s Market, 1601 North Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles.
“We are very committed to the Hispanic community,” said John Bartelme, director of marketing services for Foster Farms. “Research tells us that nine out of 10 Hispanics in California recognize Foster Farms as the leading brand of chicken. In response to this, we are continuously developing new ways to reach out to the Hispanic community, such as with the creation of the Road Show II. We’re excited and proud to have a presence at grassroots Hispanic events.”
Local Mexican chefs will add spice to the unveiling of Foster Farms’ Road Show II with an on-site cooking show where they will share traditional Latin recipes and demonstrate cooking techniques. The launch will also feature a live radio remote from the #1 Spanish-language radio station in Los Angeles, KSCA-FM; a kids’ interactive game zone, including a funhouse; two 10-foot replicas of the Foster Imposters; Foster Farms prize giveaways; and the Road Show II mobile kitchen serving delicious Foster Farms food samples.
The Foster Imposter Road Show II vehicle is equipped with a full professional kitchen with room to accommodate two chefs at one time. It has 49 feet of refrigeration space, four sinks, two convection ovens, two Toastmaster grills and the capacity to prepare 75 pounds of chicken per hour. It is 28-feet long and 15-feet wide and takes up eight parking spaces. The original Foster Imposters Road Show was built in 1998 and made its debut at the Super Bowl.
