Fox Pan American Sports ‘2da Edicion de Premios Fox Sports’.

Raul de Quesada of Fox Pan American Sports (FPAS) along with Dario Brignole of IMG, a sports marketing company, announced their collaborative effort for La 2da Edición de Premios Fox Sports. The yearly awards presentation recognizes the achievements of U.S. Hispanic and Latin American athletes and teams from soccer, baseball, boxing, basketball, motor sports, tennis and golf, as well as the contributions they make to their communities.

At a reception held at the Four Seasons Residences Miami, both enterprises stressed the significance of this awards presentation, and pledged their continued support of Premios Fox Sports that brought athletes like baseball players Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez and Estebán Loaiza; soccer stars Carlos Alberto Tevés, José Luis Chilavert, José Saturnino Cardozo and Carlos “El Pibe” Valderrama; race car driver Adrián Fernández, and boxer Carlos “El Famoso” Hernández, among others to the inaugural presentation last December.

“Sports are a passion among U.S. Hispanics and Latin Americans. We cheer, we follow, we suffer, and we celebrate with our athletes. We admire their resilience and commitment to win. IMG is proud to join Fox Pan American Sports in showcasing the top U.S. Hispanic and Latin American athletes to the world during La 2da Edición de Premios Fox Sport,” says Dario Brignole, Vice President, and Director of Hispanic and Latin American Business Development for IMG.

The International Kids Fund returns as the official charity entity for this year’s awards ceremony. Last year’s efforts raised $100,000 for the worthwhile cause. “International Kids Fund is thrilled that Premios Fox Sports has chosen us again as their official charitable partner,” said Rosy Cancela, Incoming Chairman of the IKF Board of Directors. “IKF welcomes this opportunity to reach audiences throughout Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market with the ultimate goal of improving the lives of children in need of medical care.”

“The excitement and success that Premios Fox Sports enjoyed in its inaugural year has brought forth the opportunity to collaborate with the world’s leading sports and lifestyle management firm, IMG. Their collaboration will further accelerate Premios Fox Sports as an important programming brand while becoming the marquee sports award show throughout the Spanish-speaking world. We are proud to be reunited with the International Kids Fund as the charity of record,” says Raul de Quesada, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Fox Pan American Sports.“ De Quesada also added, “A great addition to this La 2da Edición de Premios Fox Sports has been the highly successful online campaign planned and implemented in conjunction with our Internet partner Yahoo! en español.”

In May 2004, Yahoo! and Fox Pan American Sports launched a co-branded website for Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market. As part of this agreement Yahoo! is also hosting the official website of La 2da Edición de Premios Fox Sports website at http://www.premiosfoxsports.yahoo.com
