Fox Sports en Español taps Kim Porter as Director of Research.
September 23, 2006
Fox Sports en Español announced the appointment of Kim Porter as the network’s first-ever director of research. Porter joins the network from Nielsen Media Research Hispanic Services, where as senior account executive she was responsible for Hispanic market research and sales to Spanish-language broadcasters and agencies.
In her new role, she will oversee all qualitative and quantitative media and market research efforts for Fox Sports en Español, and liaise closely with the channel’s sales, programming and marketing executives.
Porter is a proven manager and Hispanic-market expert with eight years of experience in research, media sales, programming and marketing. As Nielsen’s U.S. Hispanic television marketplace measurement prepares to shift to a single, unified sample, she will lead Fox Sports en Español’s transition from the current Hispanic people meter to the national general-market sample. Reporting to Tom Maney, senior vice president of advertising sales, she will play a key role in upgrading the network’s arsenal of information resources and creating new and innovative research and data delivery methodologies.
“As Spanish-language cable continues to grow in terms of distribution and share of viewing, Fox Sports en Español’s audience data will become incrementally more valuable to the marketplace,” said Maney. “Kim’s addition not only reinforces our commitment to provide the U.S. Hispanic media community with the most comprehensive research available, but it also puts us in a great position to strengthen and expand our relationships with marketers, agencies, affiliates and the Hispanic media community at large.”
