Fox Sports International (FSI) and Aerodrome picked up the Gold and Silver awards for the Best Sports ID Campaign of 2002 at the PROMAX/BDA International Awards, presented in Los Angeles on Thursday, June 27. The winning network identification graphics package was created for Fox Sports World Canada, which FSI operates in partnership with Canadian broadcaster Global Television.
The PROMAX and BDA awards, held annually, recognize the finest promotion, marketing and design achievements in the world. Aerodrome developed the network package for Fox Sports International’s channels in Latin America and Canada integrating a gritty, posterized treatment with live action soccer players. The design group first developed the graphics broadcast package for Fox Sports International in 1998 and has worked since then to reflect the evolution of FSI’s channels.
“It’s critical to always do your best work for your clients so it’s exciting when the work is recognized by your peers,” said Scott Miller, Aerodrome’s Creative Director.
“We wanted to reflect the commitment that Fox Sports International has to delivering the highest possible quality image on the screen of all its networks as well as projecting the passion of soccer fans and players around the world. We are very proud of this award, which proves that this graphics package achieved our goals,” said Raul de Quesada, Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Fox Sports International.
Special recognition for the award goes to Laura Mickelson, former director of on-air promotions at Fox Sports International, who was instrumental in the development of this graphics package. Mickelson now works as a producer at FSI’s sister company, Fox Sports Net.
