Fox Sports World Español To Broadcast Caribbean World Series.

Fox Sports World and Fox Sports World Español will bring televised coverage of the 52nd Caribbean World Series to the U.S. next month when the Series gets underway. Telecasts of the Caribbean World Series will be offered in Spanish on Fox Sports World Español and in English on Fox Sports World. The historic Series is returning for its second televised run on Fox Sports World Español following its debut in February 2000. The Fox Sports World telecast marks the first-ever English-language presentation of the Series.

Beginning February 2nd, the top national teams from Mexico, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico will compete for the Series championship title. This season, the high-profile tournament that began in Cuba 52 years ago and showcased renowned players such as Tony Batista of the Toronto Bluejays, Ivan Rodriguez of the Texas Rangers, Neifi Perez of the Colorado Rockies and New York Yankee Bernabe “Bernie” Williams, will take place in Mexico at the Angel Flores Stadium in the city of Culiacan. Currently, Puerto Rico heads into the Caribbean World Series with the most championship titles followed by the 2000 Series champions, the Dominican Republic.

“Fox Sports World and Fox Sports World Español are the only networks that offers this great opportunity for Major League Baseball fans to watch top quality baseball outside of the regular season,” said Larry Gillman, General Manager of Fox Sports World and Fox Sports World Español. “The networks’ coverage of the Caribbean World Series will appeal to die-hard baseball fans because of the abundance of talent that has transitioned to the Major Leagues.”

Fox Sports World Español will offer live coverage of the entire 12-game series broadcasting two games per day through February 7. Fox Sports World will carry both live and one-hour delayed telecasts.
