Fox Sports World Español Major League Baseball 2001.

Fox Sports World Español announced it will broadcast 30 games of the 2001 Major League Baseball postseason beginning with the Division Series on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 4:00 PM (ET).

The entire postseason broadcast will be transmitted in Spanish for the first time ever in the United States and includes a pre-game show anchored from Fox Sports World Español’s Los Angeles studio.

Announcing the postseason play-by-play on Fox Sports World Español will be Pepe Mantilla and Tito Fuentes. Pepe Mantilla and Tito Fuentes have teamed together to present several of Fox Sports World Español’s baseball broadcasts including the Caribbean World Series and the recently completed season of the Mexican Summer Baseball League. As a former second baseman for the San Francisco Giants during the early 1970’s, Tito Fuentes played alongside baseball luminaries Bobby Bonds, Willie McCovey and Juan Marichal. Fox Sports World Español is expected to announce additional commentators for the postseason broadcasts shortly.

“We are tremendously proud to be the first Spanish-language network in the United States to bring one of the nation’s most highly anticipated sports championship series into millions of Spanish-speaking homes,” said Larry Gillman, General Manager of Fox Sports World Español. “Furthermore, we are fortunate to have a tremendous line-up of talent that reflect our viewers’ passion of sports and a devoted production group at the helm to make this possible.”
