Fundación Azteca America launches 2007 Voter Registration Campaign ¡Nuestro Grito!.
August 18, 2007
Fundación Azteca America, the non-profit arm of Azteca America dedicated to improving the lives of US Latino residents, presents its voter registration campaign, “Nuestro Grito,” which launches on the screens of Azteca America today.
The campaign serves as a source of Latino empowerment, where the Hispanic community is encouraged to exercise its rights, register to vote, and feel overall pride in Hispanic Heritage.
A multi-media effort, the campaign includes 30-second public service announcements, as well as informational brochures that will be distributed at Mexican consular offices throughout the country.
“We are committed to working with Ambassador Arturo Sarukhán and his wonderful team of consulates in every aspect that can improve the lives of the Latino community here,” said Luis J. Echarte, Chairman of Fundación Azteca America.
Fundación Azteca America also teamed up with Mexican consular offices in Phoenix and Dallas, as well as with the Mexican Embassy in Washington DC to celebrate Mexican Independence on September 15 with entertainment support. This is additional to participation by Azteca America affiliates in local events held by community groups in Chicago, Denver and Colorado Springs, to name a few.
Commonly known as “El Grito,” Mexican leaders throughout the country re-enact the historic moment on September 15 when Father Hidalgo marked the Mexican independence movement with the now famous phrase “Viva México” in 1821.
