Galavisión debuts reality competition ‘Misión: Reportar’.

Galavisión premiered its first reality program “Misión: Reportar” (Mission: Report) on Tuesday, June 5th. The show offers aspiring journalists a once in a lifetime opportunity to become a reporter for Univision, TeleFutura, and Galavisión, and work alongside the most respected journalists on Spanish-language television. “Misión: Reportar” will air weekly on Tuesdays, from 9 p.m. – 10 p.m. ET/PT (8 p.m. – 9 p.m. Central).

Viewers nationwide overwhelmingly responded to Galavisión’s casting call submitting applications online at Univision.com and attending open auditions in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago and New York. The search produced 10 contestants who will compete. While living together in Miami, they will face-off in a series of weekly challenges that will test their abilities as producers, video editors, reporters, researchers and writers. Viewers will get a behind-the-scenes look as contestants produce individual news packages for popular programs such as “Despierta América” (Wake Up America), “Escándalo TV” (Scandalous TV), “El Gordo y La Flaca” (The Scoop and the Skinny), “Republica Deportiva” (Sports Republic), “Primer Impacto” (First Impact) and “Acceso Máximo” (All Access).

“Misión: Reportar” is hosted by award winning news journalist Carmen Dominicci, who currently serves as a news anchor for Univision and correspondent for “Aquí y Ahora” (Here and Now), the network’s weekly primetime newsmagazine.

A panel of judges including Humberto Delgado, Professor of television production at Florida International University in Miami, will evaluate and eliminate contestants throughout the competition. In addition, a variety of reporters and producers from Univision, TeleFutura and Galavisión will serve as guest judges each week offering their expert advice.

Viewer participation will be a key factor in determining who will ultimately win. Two finalists will compete in the live grand finale on August 7th, during which viewers will be able to vote for their favorite contestant online at Univision.com.

For this dynamic new show, Galavisión partnered with Burger King, Colgate-Palmolive Company, Ford Motor Company, Sprint and Visa as the show’s integrated sponsors. The partnerships will include organic product placement, providing valuable exposure for the brands through creative and compelling content for “Misión: Reportar.”
