Galavisión premieres “Milagros Decodificados”
March 4, 2014
Human history is filled with situations that have apparently been resolved with no logical explanation and then attributed to divine intervention. Produced by the History Channel in Latin America, “Milagros Decodificados” (Decoded Miracles) aims to reveal what lies behind these incredible occurrences identified as miracles. The new series will debut in the United States on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the Galavisión cable network.
Unexplained healings, corpses that never decompose, people with stigmata on their bodies, and religious images that weep—these are only a few of the stories told by their eyewitnesses and analyzed by experts and prominent representatives from scientific and religious organizations from around the world.
Daniel Alvarez, renowned theologian and tenured professor of religious studies at Florida International University, closes each episode with commentary that helps viewers decipher the mysteries surrounding these individuals who claim to have supernatural powers, often incomprehensible to the human mind, as well as understand the role that religion plays in all of this.
“What’s most interesting about ‘Milagros Decodificados’ is the variety of stories that have religious undertones, and the fervent faith that these individuals inspire in their followers,” said Alvarez. “In each episode we will uncover the details of three events that are unexplained by science and are revealed as divine apparitions by the people who experienced them. Then, these same cases will be analyzed by a group of expert consultants in the fields of science and religion, from different Latin American countries, whose role in the series is to investigate the various hypotheses and help us decode each case.”
