According to Radio & Records, the respected veteran network news executive takes over for Merrilee Cox, who retired from the post last month. Garcia’s resume includes an eight-year stint as VP/News for CNN Radio and seven years as Exec. Producer for CBS Radio’s Washington Bureau. In his new role he’ll oversee all of ABC News Radio’s coverage that originates from the Nation’s Capitol and all of the network’s radio reporters and producers at federal agencies including the White House, the Capitol and the Pentagon. Garcia will report directly to ABC News Radio VP/GM Steve Jones.
