García named SVP of Media Planning and Multiplatform Strategy at Univision

Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) announced the promotion of Silvia García to senior vice president of Media Planning and Multiplatform Strategy. She will continue to be based in Miami and report to Jessica Rodriguez, EVP and chief marketing officer at UCI.

“Silvia has been instrumental in optimizing and elevating our media planning efforts across all Univision platforms. She is passionate, versatile and highly skilled, and I am confident that she will continue to be an incredible leader,” said Rodriguez.

García first joined Univision in 2012 as director of Media Planning, managing media planning for all of the Company’s programming promotions across divisions, with a focus on strategic audience targeting and optimizing of the value of UCI’s promotional inventory. In 2013, she was named vice president of Media Planning and Multiplatform Strategy and worked closely with other divisions to build out media planning and strategy discipline in support of all UCI’s broadcast and cable networks, digital, radio, local, enterprises, distribution and empowerment platforms, as well as out of home efforts. Prior to Univision, García spent 15 years at Discovery Communications as a media planner and was part of a core team of four that built Discovery’s media planning model across the Latin America/International regions.

García is one of the founding members of the Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) in Miami, a UCI employee resource group committed to driving growth and innovation through recruitment, development and retention of diverse and competitive leaders. She also serves on the Florida board of Women in Cable and Communications.
