Garcia & Rivera upped @ SBS.

Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) and Mega TV recently appointed Mr. Eduardo Garcia to its management team as Local Sales Manager. The Company also appointed Mr. Robert Rivera as Vice President of Spanish Broadcasting System’s entertainment division.

Mr. Eduardo Garcia has 17 years of experience in broadcast sales, marketing and promotions in the areas of television, radio and cable in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area for the general and Hispanic markets.

Prior to joining SBS in 2004, Mr. Garcia was a senior account executive for WCMQ Clasica 92. He was also with WDLP Channel 22, where he was instrumental in organizing the launch of the channel and handled major accounts and advertising agencies.

Mr. Garcia’s industry experience and proven sales record has won him a prominent reputation in the South Florida advertising community. He has gained his experience working for a number of South Florida television stations, including WTVJ (NBC 6), WPLG (Local 10) and Radio Unica Network.

“As Local Sales Manager, Mr. Garcia will work hand in hand with the sales management team at Mega TV. This will expand the local sales capability, with the goal of creating the most aggressive and professional Hispanic Television sales force in South Florida,” said Mr. Tomas Johansen, Mega TV Executive Vice President and General Manager.

Mr. Robert Rivera will oversee the development and production of SBS’s signature radio station concert events throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. He will also look to build strategic marketing partnerships with companies that are aiming to market and promote their brands in the Hispanic market via events, radio and TV presence.

Mr. Rivera has been with SBS for over four years as an account executive at WXDJ in Miami, specializing in the acquisition of night clubs and concert advertisers. He also has an extensive background in the entertainment industry.

Mr. Rivera has also produced some of the top tropical concerts in South Florida, including Gilberto Santa Rosa, Victor Manuelle, Olga Tañon, Willy Chirino, Toño Rosario and Celia Cruz.
