Gata Salvaje Brings Desire, Obsession & Revenge To Univision.

An obsession to uncover secrets from the past, a desire to discover a true love, and the painful price one pays when living in a world of shattered dreams are the themes explored on Gata Salvaje (Untamed Heart), the captivating new weekday daytime novela premiering on Univision, Tuesday, May 28th at 3 PM/2 Central.

Gata Salvaje is produced entirely in the United States for Univision’s audience by Venevision International, the U.S.-based component of one of Univision’s principal programming partners. Other successful programs produced by Venevision for Univision viewers are the internationally popular daytime talk show Marta Susana and the morning show Los Buenos Dias de HTV. Based on an original story by the talented writer Alberto Gómez, Gata Salvaje is produced with state-of-the-art technology and over 90% shot on location. The first-class international cast includes veteran actors Mario Cimarro (“La Usurpadora”), Ariel Lopez Padilla (“Soñadoras”), Adamari Lopez (“Amigas y Rivales”), Carolina Tejera (“Mujer Secreta”), Frances Ondiviela (“Luz Clarita”) and Charlie Masso (of “Menudo” fame) as well as many promising young actors such as Marlene Favela (“La Intrusa”) in her first leading role and Liliana Rodriguez (daughter of popular singer Jose Luis Rodriguez “El Puma”). Set in the picturesque location of a modern-day plantation, this fascinating novela will introduce viewers to new and extraordinary characters and the drama behind intense family rivalry.

“Gata Salvaje” marks the return of handsome leading man, Mario Cimarro (“La Usurpadora”), as Luis Mario Arismendi, the young widower whose path crosses with the beautiful Rosaura Rios, played by Marlene Favela.

The Storyline

Rosaura Rios, a 22 year-old determined young woman, lives a modest life with her family in Miami. The hard-working Rosaura, nicknamed “Gata Salvaje” (“Untamed Heart””) due to her strong-willed character, supports her kind-hearted, but alcoholic father, ambitious stepmother and indolent half-sister. Rosaura strives for a better life for herself and the family, but unbeknownst to her, her own father holds a secret that, if revealed, will change Rosaura’s life forever.

Rosaura’s life takes on a completely different turn when she meets Luis Mario Arismendi, a 30 year-old widower with whom she falls in love. Luis Mario’s well to do family owns a plantation, but is struggling to hold on to their fortune. Eduarda, Luis Mario’s cold-hearted and scheming older sister, plots to marry her handsome brother to Eva Granados (Carolina Tejera), a pretty and wealthy young woman who has little regard for anyone’s feelings but her own. Because the union will solve the Arismendi family’s financial trouble, Eduarda is intent on marrying Luis Mario and Eva despite any and all obstacles. In her unrelenting drive to marry off Luis Mario, Eduarda will become Rosaura’s biggest foe and will cause the humble Rosaura much pain and heartache.

Because of her strong-minded and rebellious nature, Rosaura will develop many enemies, and she will have to rise above all of the envy and hatred against her to bring about the happiness and true love she so desperately wants.
