Bill Gates purchased 7% of Televisa’s shares. Thus, giving the software mogul direct interest in both Televisa and Univision in the US.
Mr. Gates has invested before in the US Hispanic market, by purchasing Yupi.com and transforming the internet portal into YupiMSN.com. Additionally, Mr. Gates has been involved with Televisa in the past on the internet front, when they jointly launched T1MSN.com several years ago.
