Giving back.

I wanted to respond to your call for submissions of stories about Hispanic Advertising industry employees that go above and beyond the call of duty in their communities. Somewhat nepotistic, I want to nominate my brother, Kelly Kirschner, acting VP of Papel Multimedia Network.

On top of Kelly’s full time responsibilities with Papel, he is also a ‘part’ time City Commission member in Sarasota, Fl and last year, was the youngest Vice Mayor in the city’s history. This is a position that requires a great deal of time and energy with very little remuneration, truly a civil servant post. And Kelly serves diligently to ensure that his campaign promises of building a better future for our local community are more than just promises. Most recently he chaired a local ‘Diaper Derby’ which sought primarily to raise funds and awareness for single mother and low income families that are struggling to support their families in this challenging environment.

In this moment in our country’s history, with the newly elected President calling on all of us to lend a hand in rebuilding our communities and our country, Kelly is a shining example of a citizen that gives his all both professionally to help develop our industry and personally to better our community.
