The Procter & Gamble Company announced the appointment of Bernhard Glock, 45, as manager, global media and communication, effective September 1, 2003. Mr. Glock previously held the title of director of media, Europe and Asia, and of direct-to-consumer capability, Europe.
“Bernhard has created competitive advantage for P&G in Europe and Asia by building a strong media organization grounded in a deep understanding of our consumers,” said R. Kerry Clark, vice chairman of the board and president of global market development and business operations. “In his new role, Bernhard will bring a global view and unified voice to our media efforts.”
“The creation of this new role at P&G demonstrates our commitment to consumer-led marketing. P&G wins with consumers every day by making powerful connections with them when and where they are most receptive,” said Jim Stengel, P&G global marketing officer.
In his global role Mr. Glock will report jointly to Mr. Clark and Mr. Stengel. He will be responsible for providing leadership for P&G’s global media organization, media strategies, plans and agencies.
“This role presents P&G with the opportunity to grow our relationships with P&G’s media managers, agencies and business partners around the world,” Glock said. “Together, our goal will be to leverage our expertise to create more powerful consumer connections for P&G’s brands. ”
