Gloria Estefan honored by McDonald’s in New York

With On Your Feet!, her life-based sizzling musical on Broadway, and as vibrant as ever, international Latino superstar Gloria Estefan was honored in New York last night by another American icon: McDonald’s.
Estefan, attending with her artistic and life-partner, mega producer Emilio Estefan, was feted by the powerful Tri-State McDonald’s Co-Op bestowing upon the singer-composer its 2015 Celebrando Nuestras Leyendas (Celebrating Our Legends) recognition.
McDonald’s chooses a celebrity of international caliber, from the world’s entertainment and sports, every year. Previous honorees are the late singer Celia Cruz, singer-composer Juan Luis Guerra and baseball legend Mariano Rivera.
The event, held at The Marriott Marquis, close to the stage of On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan, served to recognize Gloria and Emilio Estefan as part of Hispanic Heritage Month. McDonald’s donated $10,000 dollars to the Estefans for the many charities and human causes they support through their Gloria Estefan Foundation. Celebrando Nuestras Leyendas was conceived for McDonald’s by its agency, d expósito & Partners, which organizes the event every year.
