GM Full-Size Pickups – Tops With Latinos.
November 8, 2005
According to an automotive data analysis by R. L. Polk & Co., GM has passed Ford Motor Co. for the top spot in selling full-size pickup trucks to Latinos.
Ford held the lead by about 2,000 units throughout 2004, but from January through June, the GM entries have held a strong 4,000 unit lead over Ford, HispanicBusiness.com reports. For nearly 30 years, the Ford F-series has been the best-selling truck for the company and also is the single-most popular vehicles among Latinos, as well as all buyers, according to HispanicBusiness.com. But the picture changes when numbers for the GM full-size pickups (Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra) are combined. The most popular vehicles in general among Latinos include large pickups, small cars and midsize cars.
