GOL TV Kicks Off.

GOL TV, the first and only all-soccer programming network in the US, announced that it has acquired the exclusive broadcast rights to the upcoming match between the Real Madrid Futbol Club and the FIFA All Stars. The game celebrates the Centennial Anniversary of the Real Madrid FC and was the only FIFA sanctioned match being played throughout the world on Wednesday, December 18. GOL TV will distribute the game exclusive to ECHOSTAR/DISH subscribers (10 p.m. ET & 7 p.m. PT on channels 457 & 471), and has also agreed to offer the match in delayed rights transmission to the Telemundo Television Network as well as MSG (Madison Square Garden) Networks, in New York City.

“This game will truly be one of a kind,” noted GOL TV President, Enzo “El Principe” Francescoli, who himself happens to be one of soccer’s legends. “It’s every soccer fan’s ‘dream teams’ fantasy; a game destined to become the stuff of soccer lore,” added Francescoli. GOL TV will also contribute a very special element for its US viewers: the commentators for their broadcast will be Enzo Francescoli and Francisco Javier Gonzalez, a leading authority on Mexican soccer. The great Mexican soccer legend, Hugo Sanchez, played for Real Madrid FC, which makes this game of particular interest to the US Hispanic audience.
