GolTV to broadcast Argentine Football Association games.

GolTV has signed an exclusive agreement with Torneos y Competencias (“Torneos”) to air the “Clasico” – the week’s top match – from the Argentine Football Association, every Sunday at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT until the 2013-2014 season. This means that viewers can watch the goal-scoring action of top teams like Boca Juniors, Estudiantes, River Plate and Vélez Sársfield during Apertura and Clausura play.

“With more than two million people playing soccer and 400 professional soccer clubs, Argentina is a country as obsessed with soccer as GolTV,” said Constantino Voulgaris, executive vice president of programming and business development at GolTV.  “This agreement to air Argentina’s top weekly matches reinforces GolTV as the exclusive TV and online destination for real soccer fans, providing the most exciting soccer coverage from around the globe.”

“This agreement with GolTV provided a great opportunity for Torneos to expand the viewership of the tradition-rich and exciting soccer that the Argentine Football Association is known for to millions of passionate soccer fans throughout North America,” said a spokesperson from Torneos.
