GolTV scores Mexico’s Liga de Ascenso

GolTV has secured the broadcast rights for Mexico’s Liga de Ascenso whose games involve many teams that have been in the First Division and other teams hoping to win and gain promotion to play in the Liga Mexicana, Mexico’s First Division.

“The Liga de Ascenso acquires more quality every day. It has foreign players and legendary players such as Cuauhtémoc Blanco, who has made a commitment to bring Irapuato up to the First Division. In fact, when the team plays at home, GolTV will broadcast Irapuato’s games.”

“Mexico has a huge soccer tradition and GolTV knows that more than 73% of Hispanic residents in the United States are Mexicans and they want to follow their teams, whether they are First or Second Division,” said Constantino Voulgaris, GolTV’s EVP of Programming and New Business Development. “The ratings have proved that it is an attractive product and with the amount of outstanding Mexican and foreign players playing in this league, our audience will enjoy it.”

Luis Baraldi, who has in-depth knowledge of what a team has to go through to reach the First Division, commented: “The Liga de Ascenso acquires more quality every day. It has foreign players and legendary players such as Cuauhtémoc Blanco, who has made a commitment to bring Irapuato up to the First Division. In fact, when the team plays at home, GolTV will broadcast Irapuato’s games.”

GolTV kicks off this Saturday, August 13 with a game between Irapuato and Celaya at 8:00 pm ET and will continue on the following Saturdays with one exclusive broadcast of an Irapuato game, which promises to be an authentic Mexican fiesta.
