Growing Number Of Hispanic Looking For LOVE Online.

A recent survey of “Busca tu Pareja” users, Terra.com’s bilingual online dating service powered by Matchmaker.com, one of the largest databases of singles online, revealed that more and more Hispanic singles are looking for new ways to re-boot their love lives and are turning to online dating to find that special someone with a click of a mouse.

With only 25% of respondents revealing that they have more than three dates each month, it’s no wonder that Hispanic singles are looking for love in cyberspace. In fact, only 21% of all Hispanic singles surveyed said their dating lives are great and when asked about dating in general, 29% admitted they couldn’t remember their last date.

“For singles who are serious about looking for a true romance, today’s state of the date in the traditional sense, needs improvement, “said Amy Givens, Terra.com’s e-commerce manager. “People can’t fall in love if they don’t have an opportunity to meet their match. This is exactly what Matchmaker.com provides-an exciting, efficient and modern alternative, “she said.

Although most Gen Xers are living and working in a digital world, some Latinas prefer the traditional route and have their family and friends make the introduction while men are nearly twice as likely than women to use online dating services-a surprising stat when two out of every three women surveyed admitted dating is more difficult today than it was 10 years ago.

For others, the blind date stigma is slowly becoming less of an issue as more Latinas grab their laptops to venture into the World Wide Web and take control of their love lives. Meeting people online is growing in popularity and many members of Matchmaker.com actually prefer the confidentiality and effectiveness of the service to conventional methods. “I was a little weary about online dating at first, but I was serious about finding a mate, “said south Texas native Veronica Toledo. “I realized a reputable online dating service would give me the ability to screen the members that contacted me and at the same time, I had a good opportunity to meet different people and expand my real world situation into cyberspace.”

About half of those interviewed felt marriage need not be the goal of every relationship, even so, the notion that online dating never results in marriage is a myth.
