January 12, 2009
Grupo Gallegos announced that it has been recognized by creative directors and agency president members of the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AAHA) who were asked to identify the most unforgettable Hispanic advertising campaigns of the last 20 years.
“Japanese Hand is a surprising commercial with irreverent humor”
Grupo’s Japanese Hand commercial for Energizer got the top ranking in this survey by its peers. “Japanese Hand is a surprising commercial with irreverent humor,” said Favio Ucedo, creative director of Grupo Gallegos, who created the commercial for Energizer. “It is out of the box, goes the limit, and tells a very entertaining story that people enjoy watching again and again.”
The acclaimed spot, Japanese Hand, won Grupo a Silver Lion at Cannes in 2005. The honor was repeated in 2005 with a Bronze Lion for Beard.
Grupo’s California Milk Processor Board’s Got Milk? campaign was ranked fifth in the survey as the advertisement with the highest recall among award winners. Grupo has been developing the Got Milk? campaign for the California Processor Board over the last four years.
According to Juan Oubina, creative director of Grupo Gallegos, “I believe among the reasons this campaign has such high recall are its second to none production values. We took on the project as if we were making movies in 30 and 60 second clips. The commitment, passion and talent of each of the world’s best directors who helped us bring these stories to life were fundamental to what was accomplished.”
Agency CEO John Gallegos continued, “We thank both our Energizer and California Milk Processor Board clients for their contributions to these achievements. Without their great brands, stories, and superb marketing minds these spots wouldn’t have been created. Both brands remain important clients to the agency and we look forward to continuing to produce great things together.”
