Guerra promoted to Sr. VP of Network News at Telemundo.

Telemundo Communications Group announced the promotion of Johanna Guerra from Vice President, Network News to Senior Vice President, Network News. The announcement was made by Don Browne, President, Telemundo, to whom she will report.

“Johanna is a talented, dedicated and experienced journalist,” said Browne. “She is a determined and passionate news executive, a natural leader with the vision to lead our award-winning news division into this rapidly evolving media landscape.”

A news industry veteran, Guerra is charged with developing strategic plans for all of the network’s news properties and supervise all news programming for Telemundo. Additionally, Guerra oversees the network’s domestic and international news bureaus in Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C. and Mexico City, Mexico as well as the development of on-air talent and communications, including securing correspondents, show anchors and contributors.

Prior to holding the position of Vice President, Network News, Guerra served as the executive producer of “Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste,” Telemundo’s successful news magazine. Her first post at Telemundo she served as an assignment editor at WNJU, Telemundo’s local New York affiliate station. There Guerra moved up the news ranks becoming an associate producer, line producer and executive producer at the station. She rejoined the network as a part of the NBC integration team, where she facilitated the integration of Telemundo’s network news department with NBC News. Before joining Telemundo, Guerra worked at MSNBC as a producer out of the cable network’s Secaucus, New Jersey studios.
