Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) Latin America, Inc., has promoted Jaime Guerra to sales manager of the company’s Miami advertising sales operations. The announcement was made by Gretchen Colón, senior vice president of advertising sales, marketing and promotional licensing for TBS Latin America, Inc.
In his new role, Guerra will oversee all Miami/Florida based clients and agencies, as well as Turner’s advertising representatives in Central America, Colombia and Venezuela. He will manage a team of seven in the Miami office, and continues to report to Colón.
The Miami office represents Turner’s hub for ad sales in the region, which has offices in Buenos Aires, Mexico City and São Paulo. The Miami team is responsible for ad sales and promotional licensing of Turner’s networks throughout Florida, Central America, Venezuela, Colombia and the Caribbean, including the pan-regional and country-specific feeds of Cartoon Network, TNT, CNN International, CNN en Español and Boomerang. The team is also charged with the networks’ corresponding Web sites.
“Over the past year, Jaime has constantly demonstrated his sales leadership skills by successfully negotiating large client partnerships that are win-win for both parties, through tough economic times,” said Colón.
Guerra joined Turner in 1999, and most recently held the title of account executive. He was responsible for creating integrated marketing solutions for clients, drafting strategic partnership plans and building business development alliances. Over the last four years, Guerra has built a strong network of blue chip clients, working on deals with a number of international corporations including Kodak, MasterCard, P&G, Purina and UPS.
Before Turner, Guerra served three years as head of marketing for Land Rover / BMW of Mexico. While there he managed Land Rover’s sales and marketing department and the national launch of several models. He started his career at the Ford Motor Company of Mexico, where he served as sales zone manager for two years and brand manager for three years.
