Heineken & Gen Art Team Up To Honor Emerging Hispanic Fashion Designers.
March 30, 2003
Heineken USA has teamed up with Gen Art, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to showcasing emerging talent in fashion, film, music and art, to launch a new initiative Heineken Honors…”The Beat of Fashion.”
The program is designed to support promising African American and Hispanic fashion designers by shining the spotlight on their unique contributions to the fashion community. The program will also create the opportunity to have fashions by select African American and Hispanic designers showcased during Gen Art’s high profile “Ignite” event at the Puck Building in New York City on July 17, 2003. In addition, selected finalists will be presented with a $2,000 grant at the event.
As part of the initiative, Gen Art will conduct a national outreach via their regional offices to identify talented African American and Hispanic designers whose fashions reflect an appreciation and recognition of music as an inspiration in their creations.
The submission deadline is June 20, 2003. Application materials must be addressed to GEN ART, Attn: Heineken Honors…”Beat of Fashion”; 133 W. 25th St.; 6th Fl East; New York, NY 10001. GEN ART will review all materials and select all finalists for the program. In addition, all finalists will be notified by GEN ART via phone no later than July 1,
2003.
