Heineken Green Ribbon Initiative at 19th Annual Billboard Latin Music Conference.
March 7, 2008
For years celebrities have proudly worn the Heineken Green Ribbon to show their support of Latin music during the Billboard Latin Music Conference and Awards.
This year, not only will celebrities wear the Heineken Green Ribbon as Heineken makes a donation on their behalf to the NALAC Fund for the Arts (NFA) Heineken Green Ribbon Grant, but select artists will also be making their own individual contributions to the cause.
Recognized artists from a variety of music genres will donate prized personal possessions for the first ever Heineken Latin Music Memorabilia Silent Auction which will benefit the NFA Heineken Green Ribbon Grant. From Chayanne and Don Omar, to Mala Rodriguez and Wisin y Yandel, major artists are throwing in their shirts, hats and even instruments to help raise additional funds for the grant.
“The Heineken Green Ribbon celebrates the talent, drive and commitment it takes to achieve success as a Hispanic musician in the U.S.”, says Marime Riancho, Heineken Senior Brand Director, Multicultural Markets for Heineken USA. “What better way to honor this cause then by auctioning off memorabilia from artists who have been through the journey from dream to success and donating the money raised to support emerging talent along their own journey?”
