Hispanic Business Magazine Woman Of The Year.

Hispanic Business Inc., publisher of Hispanic Business magazine, announced its first annual Woman of the Year Awards Luncheon, honoring the nation’s most influential and successful women in business, government, and academia. The inaugural Hispanic Business Magazine Woman of the Year Award will be presented at the event, to be held April 3 in Washington, D.C.

The Woman of the Year Awards Luncheon will coincide with the release of the April issue of Hispanic Business, which features the magazine’s annual “80 Elite Hispanic Women” directory. This year’s roster of Elite Women comprises eight categories. Corporate America contributes the largest share (30 women), followed by government careerists (10) and education professionals (10). The categories of elected officials (7), nonprofit executives (4), sports and entertainment figures (9), and women of the military (3) make their debut on this year’s list. The final category, Rising Stars, highlights seven women who embody the future potential of Hispanic female leadership.

The Woman of the Year Award winner has been selected from among this year’s Elite Women on the basis of her national influence, career achievement, service to the Hispanic community, and notable recent successes.

“It is with great pleasure that we are able to bring together these leading women and to celebrate their achievements,” said Jesús Chavarría, editor and publisher of Hispanic Business magazine, in announcing the Woman of the Year Awards Luncheon.
