Hispanic Foods Show Joins West Coast Seafood Show.

For the first time, the International West Coast Seafood Show (WCSS), the largest seafood show west of the Mississippi, will be co-located with Expo Comida Latina (ECL), the Hispanic food and beverage show. Both shows take place in Los Angeles, November 3-5 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Expo Comida Latina serves the Hispanic market, one of the fastest growing market segments with a buying power of $500 billion annually. As tastes and preferences for hot and zesty ethnic cuisine grows every year, retailers are left scrambling to keep up. Expo Comida Latina features 178 food manufacturers and distributors from the United States and Latin America with the latest products.

The International West Coast Seafood Show, held in Los Angeles every year, features 262 exhibitors with fresh and frozen seafood for the retail and foodservice industries. Today, top quality seafood is available virtually everywhere. As seafood such as Salmon and Shrimp becomes more economical, and as the medical community continues to promote the health benefits of seafood, such as Omega3, more retailers and restaurants are carrying seafood. Retailers have reported that seafood sales to date are higher in 2002 than 2001. In a recent survey by Seafood Business Magazine, retailers reported that Seafood accounted for 25% of sales.
