Hispanic Heritage Awards 2003 in NYC.

Events promotion company, R. Paniagua Inc. (RPI) will honor 150-200 of New York City’s ‘Best, Brightest and most Dedicated’ Latino New York City Public School students from the 6th, 7th and 8th grades as part of its 15th Annual Hispanic Achievement Awards at Jimmy’s Bronx Café and Yankee Stadium.

“For 15 years, we have recognized the academic achievements of NY’s brightest and best students from the Hispanic community,” says Joseph A. Paniagua, Executive Vice President of R. Paniagua Inc. “This event seeks to support kids who do well in school despite the odds in our inner-cities at a critical juncture of their development into adulthood. It also serves as an encouragement to struggling parents and, we hope, a boost of pride in their children’s recognition in being selected to receive the award,” Mr. Paniagua added.

It is with this aim in mind that RPI appreciates the support of members of the business community such as The New York Yankees, White Rose Foods, Pioneer, Met Foodmarkets, Columbia Presbyterian, Western Union, Hoy, and other members of the media, for their support in recognizing the educational efforts of these children.

Honorees of the Hispanic Achievement Awards, including their families and teachers, will be feted at a VIP Dinner Awards ceremony at Jimmy’s Bronx Café, (Located at 281 W. Fordham Rd.) on Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at 6 pm. Approximately a thousand guests will attend the awards event.

On Saturday, May 17th, the honorees, their teachers and families, will be invited to Yankee Stadium where, prior to the Yankees Vs. Texas Rangers game at 1:05pm EST, the young scholars will be honored at home plate in a scoreboard recognition ceremony. Each youngster will be shown on the scoreboard and mentioned by name during the ceremony.
