HIT Entertainment and Vme have announced an exclusive partnership to bring HIT’s popular preschool programs Thomas & Friends™, Angelina Ballerina™, Barney™ and Bob the Builder™ to the U.S. Hispanic market airing during Vme’s daily preschool programming block, Vme Niños and on Vme’s 24/7 cable channel Vme Kids.
Vme will begin airing the new series from HIT’s award-winning library starting in June 2011. The four new series from HIT will air during Vme’s daily four-hour preschool block, Vme Niños, and on its 24/7 cable channel Vme Kids. Vme is currently the only Spanish network to offer a daily block and dedicated network for educational preschool programming in Spanish.
“Vme is a valued and essential partner in bringing HIT programs to a significant and continually growing U.S. Hispanic population,” said Claudia Scott-Hansen, Senior Vice President, Broadcast, The Americas, HIT Entertainment. “The recent U.S. Census found a 43 percent increase in the Hispanic population over the last decade – it’s exciting to be able to share the adventures of our iconic series, Thomas, Bob, Barney and Angelina with a new generation of children and families in their native language.”
“Vme’s commitment to quality preschool programming is unique among Spanish broadcasters, and we are pleased to strengthen our partnership with a content partner like HIT who shares our commitment to education for our youngest viewers,” said Guillermo Sierra, Senior Vice President, Content, Vme Media. “The characters in these four programs are loved by children all over the world, and we are confident they will be loved by Spanish speaking children in the U.S. too.”
