Hoy & AARP On Articles Of Interest To Hispanic Seniors.

Hoy and the American Association of Retired Persons will collaborate on an exclusive series of articles that will focus on issues relevant to the 50-plus Hispanic community.

The articles will include ensuring the long-term solvency of Social Security; protecting pensions; fighting age discrimination; prescription-drug coverage in Medicare; patient protections in managed care and long-term care; anti-predatory home loan lending and other protections for the 50-plus consumer.

AARP’s mission is to serve people age 50 and older through education, advocacy, benefits and access to programs and services to help them protect their health, manage their money, plan their retirement, serve their community, strengthen their families and enjoy their leisure time.

AARP has worked extensively with leading Hispanic organizations, conducting important research projects, sponsoring key community events and providing programs benefiting Hispanic community members. AARP represents more than 35 million members, 2 percent of whom are Hispanic.

“We recognize that the United States is in the midst of a demographic revolution and that all organizations must broaden their appeal to Hispanic-Americans,” said Yvette Martinez, Associate State Director for AARP.
