Hoy launches New and Improved Website.

Hoy, the only Spanish-language daily Hispanic newspaper in Chicago with sister publications in Los Angeles, today announced the launch of the enhanced version of its site, http://www.vivelohoy.com.

“We refocused our editorial department as a web news and information group to serve an incredibly attractive audience,” said John Trainor, General Manager of Hoy Chicago. “We have also dramatically improved our print products in the process. According to Scarborough, our weekly readership in Chicago grew by 40 percent in 2010. Far from being an online extension of Hoy, the website has truly become a catalyst for innovation and audience growth.”

“We are engaging our audience by delivering the highest quality news and information whenever and wherever they want it” said Fernando Diaz, managing editor of Hoy and vivelohoy.com. “Web publishing is about knowing when to lead and when to follow. We’re becoming experts at both and the results so far are extraordinary. Since our Beta redeployment 60 days ago, our unique visitors have grown five times, setting new records for our company.”

Hoy will continue to invest in digital capacity to win with US Hispanics online, which in 2010 reached 30 million people.
