The Immigrant Vote 2004 Campaign @ NAHP Media Summit.

A coalition of more than ten organizations gathered at the Holeman Lounge in the National Press Club to mobilize other organizations into producing over two million immigrant voters throughout the country for this year’s election.

“No one organization is capable of mobilizing the whole country,” said Maria Echaveste, representing the New American Opportunity Campaign. Echaveste, former Deputy Chief of Staff for President Bill Clinton, also addressed the important role that NAHP, Inc. plays by reaching the Hispanic community through many of its publications around the country.

The coalition at the press conference included the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, Center for Immigrant Democracy, El Mundo Newspaper, Gamaliel Foundation, National Council of La Raza, New American Opportunity Campaign and Project Vote.

“The Immigrant Vote 2004” outreach campaign aims to reach 31 states including Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia.
