Impact USA Launches In LA.

MediaNews Group publisher of the Los Angeles Daily News,announced the launch of Impacto USA in Los Angeles.

Impact USA is MediaNews Group’s tactical expansion and re-launch of its already successful tabloid, El Economico, which has served the Los Angeles community for over 11-years. “LA county’s Hispanic population is 4.5 million strong and now represents nearly 45% of the county’s total population,” says Gerald Grilly, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of MediaNews Group. “We’re committed to creating an essential, ‘must read’ product in the largest Hispanic market in the country,” he adds.

Beginning January 24th, Impact USA will be home delivered every Saturday in colorful broadsheet format to over 250,000 Hispanic households in Central and East Los Angeles, Long Beach and the San Fernando Valley. The distribution methodology – which targets the highest concentration of Hispanic households around key retail locations – was developed by the Latino Newspaper Network, a marketing and advertising sales partnership comprised of MediaNews Group, Copley Newspapers and the New York Daily News.

“We’ve been working on Impact USA for months, developing a potent mix of must-read editorial most relevant to the Los Angeles Latino community today,” says Fernando Paramo, Publisher of the new newspaper.

Publisher Paramo is confident that the paper’s large, targeted circulation, together with its commitment to top editorial quality, will be key drivers of its advertising revenue success. “At 250,000 copies we are nearly twice the size of La Opinion, the next largest paper in the area,” says Paramo. “And new advertisers – from retailers to real estate companies to automotive dealers – are already jumping aboard, thrilled about the product’s new look and the precision of the distribution plan,” according to Paramo.
