ImpreMedia acquires Rumbo Newspaper Network in Texas.

ImpreMedia has acquired Rumbo Spanish-language newspaper network in Texas with newspapers in 3 of the nation’s top 10 Hispanic DMA’s, Houston, San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley.

The Rumbo publications, previously published by Meximerica Media, Inc., will remain full-color, Spanish-language tabloid newspapers. The Rumbo newspapers have relentlessly pursued an editorial mission to provide excellent journalism that is relevant and entertaining to Hispanics while helping readers to adapt and prosper in the U.S. Rumbo was named one of the three best U.S. Hispanic papers by the National Association of Hispanic Publishers in 2006.

“We will continue Rumbo’s mission of providing the Hispanic community in Houston, San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley with unsurpassed journalism,” said John Paton, Chairman & CEO of ImpreMedia. “We look forward to furthering that mission and building the Rumbo newspapers using the combined resources of our company.”

“Acquiring Rumbo’s network of newspapers in Texas expands ImpreMedia’s national footprint to 7 of top 10 Hispanic markets, which allows ImpreMedia to provide advertisers a larger, national platform to present their brand messages while building sales volume locally,” said Erich Linker, Senior Vice President of Sales for ImpreMedia.
