Impremedia launches coverage of 2008 Presidential Elections.

ImpreMedia has assigned six of its most experienced journalists in Spanish language media to cover the 2008 Presidential Elections. The ImpreMedia journalists will be on the presidential campaign trail to provide the most comprehensive coverage of the national election.

Beginning this week in Iowa and New Hampshire, four reporters from La Opinion and two from El Diario/ La Prensa will follow the leading candidates as they traverse the country in advance of the primary elections of “Super Duper Tuesday” on February 5th.

The importance of the Latino vote is heightened this year by the compressed election calendar and more than 80% of the Latino electorate will vote in a primary by February 5th. Latino voters will play a key role in “Battleground” states especially states Florida, California, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada. The Latino vote is the fastest growing segment of the US electorate with Latino voter registration increasing 50% in the last 10 years. It is estimated that a record 9 million Latinos will vote in the Nov. 8th general election.

This coveted vote is still considered by the political parties as an important “swing” vote that may very well tip the scales toward victory for any one of the candidates. “Latino voters prefer to receive their political information in Spanish and from trusted sources like La Opinion and El Diario. By providing unparalleled content on this important electoral process, we expect to play a pivotal role in informing and educating this segment of the voting public”, commented Monica Lozano, Publisher of La Opinion.

ImpreMedia’s extensive coverage continues through the national political conventions and onto the final phase of the election 11 months from now. This coverage will include exclusive interviews with the candidates, insights into the issues, platforms and policy debates shaping the election, national Latino voter polls and analysis by expert political pundits. Special informational packages will publish in all Impremedia-owned papers and websites and will be made available through syndicated content packages.

Impremedia’s election coverage can be accessed through a special website: Voto Latino 08, at http://www.laopinion.com/elecciones2008>
