Inside Joke @ Sí TV.

Sí TV brings back “Inside Joke,” one of television’s only biography-style shows devoted to the private and sometimes wacky lives of today’s hottest Latino comedians.

Returning for its second season, “Inside Joke” says goodbye to season one’s live-action puppet host Rita Fernando and hello to real-life host, and former Mad TV cast member, Jill-Michele Meleán, who was the voice of Rita Fernando. Produced by Mark J. Allen and Chase Peel, “Inside Joke” premieres June 19th starting at 7:30 ET/PT.

The premiere will be preceded by an “Inside Joke” marathon of the first full season of “Inside Joke” starting at 1:30 pm ET/PT. The marathon is part of a Father’s Day package titled “Sunday Funnies,” which is an extension of the network’s all-day Sunday block showcasing comedy. The marathon will also include three special episodes that have running commentary from special comedian guests.

“Having got my start as a stand-up comic, this show is very near and dear to my heart,” said Jeff Valdez, chairman and co-founder of Sí TV. “We have had great viewer feedback from season one and look forward to premiering ‘Inside Joke’ with this new format.”

Recently nominated for a 2005 Imagen Award for “Best Documentary: Television and Film” “Inside Joke” takes a closer look behind the punch-line to tell the funny, dramatic, and candid stories that help developed these comics into some of today’s most sought after talent. During each half-hour show Meleán explores the comedian’s career and offstage antics, sprinkled with side-splitting re-enactments and stand-up performance clips. Season two will feature such comedy headliners as; Freddy Soto, Pablo Francisco, Johnny Sanchez, and Gene Pompa.
