Interep Third Annual Radio Symposium ‘Radio 101: Back to the Basics, Off to the Future’.

Interep announced that it will hold its third annual Radio Symposium on Wednesday, June 28th, 2005 at Bear Stearns’ headquarters in New York City. This year’s event, entitled “Radio 101: Back to the Basics, Off to the Future,” celebrates radio’s 100 years of broadcasting achievement, while asking, “What’s next?” for a medium in transition.

Ralph Guild, Chairman and CEO, Interep, said, “Interep is thrilled to present our Radio Symposium once again this year. This event-conceived, produced and directed by Victor Lirio and hosted so intelligently each year by Victor Miller-has grown into one of radio’s must-attend symposiums. Considering the pressure on all of our schedules, the caliber of both the attendees and participants speaks volumes about the importance of this event to the industry.”

Victor Miller, Sr. Broadcast Research Analyst, Bear Stearns, will serve as host for the event, which is co-sponsored by Bear Stearns. Miller said, “It is very exciting to be working with Interep on our third consecutive radio symposium. This annual event has come to serve as an occasion to track the progress of the industry over the past year, and to look at where the medium is headed in the face of current challenges and opportunities. I believe this year’s event will be our most prophetic yet.” New technologies — HD Radio, streaming, Internet advertising, wireless, pod casting, on-demand, changing audience measurement will all impact radio’s future. At the same time, the medium has a successful legacy founded on the core basics of programming, audience connection and local involvement. This symposium looks to the leaders of the industry to share their views on how to successful blend the two diverging value propositions to create the next generation of radio.

The 2006 Radio Symposium’s agenda will feature commentary by radio broadcasting group heads, ad agency executives and top financial analysts in the media sector, as well as leaders in media sales, marketing and research. Joel Hollander, Chairman and CEO, CBS Radio, will be featured in a “One-on-One Leadership Dialogue” moderated by Miller. Additional speakers will be announced shortly.
