Jorge Flo has been named PRISA Radio’s Director of Music for America. With this appointment a boost is given to the development of music products, both on digital and analog platforms, in the Americas. In his new position, Flo will report to the Director of Music of PRISA Radio and will manage the implementation of the company’s musical formats in Latin America and the U.S.
During his career Jorge Flo Villaseca (Madrid, 1960) has worked on “Radio El País”, “Radio Minuto”, “El País” and the record company BMG. In 1990 he joined the founding team of Canal Plus, first as Chief Editor of Music, directing and presenting various programs, and then as presenter of the newscast services in the network.
In 1998 Flo was in charge of launching “40TV”, the pioneer music TV in Spain; some years later he was appointed Director of PRISA Radio’s music channels in Spain, For over 10 years, he has succeeded in his role as responsible for “Los 40 Principales”, “Cadena Dial”, “M80”, “Máxima fm” and “Radiolé”. In the last ratings study (EGM) these formats added 7.8 million daily listeners.
During his time at the head of PRISA Radio’s music products in Spain, these formats have consolidated and improved their positions: “40 Principales” has increased its audience and has maintained its leadership position; its renowned morning program “Anda ya” is the second most listened to radio show in Spanish radio, just behind “Hoy por Hoy” (aired in PRISA Radio’s Cadena SER), while “Cadena Dial” has climbed to second place in the ranking of most listened to music stations.
