Team Kraft Racing has added some international flavor to its lineup of NASCAR drivers with the addition of Mexican driver, Michel Jourdain, Jr., a member of ppc Racing. The native of Mexico City joins a stable of nine of NASCAR’s top racers, including 2004 Nextel Cup Champion, Kurt Busch, and fan favorite, Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
As part of the relationship, Jourdain will participate in Kraft’s NASCAR promotional programs and will be featured in various communications, such as advertising, packaging and retail displays. Jourdain will also make appearances and feature Kraft brand logos on his racing suit and car.
“Our NASCAR sponsorship is all about creating one-of-a-kind opportunities for our consumers to experience the thrill of NASCAR,” said Michael Tilley, Associate Director, Sports Marketing & Strategic Alliances, Kraft Foods. “We’re excited to work with Michel to introduce NASCAR to the many Hispanic consumers who have never experienced the sport, and do so in a way that is relevant to their culture.”
Jourdain is a nine-year veteran of the Champ Car World Series, formerly known as CART. During his Champ Car career, he notched two wins, 25 top-10 finishes and 20 top-fives. Jourdain leads the #10 team for ppc Racing in the NASCAR Busch Series.
“I grew up with Kraft’s products in Mexico and it is a company that is well-known for its commitment to Latinos,” said Jourdain. “I feel very fortunate to have the support of a company like Kraft that believes in me and my potential in racing.”
