Journalism Scholarship For Spanish-Language News Student.

Maria Elena Salinas, is encouraging gifted journalism students to follow in her footsteps through the creation of the Maria Elena Salinas Scholarship for Excellence in Spanish-language News Media. The annual gift, which is matched by Univision News, provides a yearly scholarship of $10,000 and is available through the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
“I am happy to reciprocate the many opportunities I have been afforded throughout my 20-year career as a journalist to cover breaking news and world events,” said Salinas. “With the continued growth of Spanish-language media, there are myriad and exciting opportunities for young journalists to pursue.”
In addition to the financial gift, the recipient of the Maria Elena Salinas Scholarship for Excellence in Spanish-language News Media will also have the opportunity to intern with the Univision Network news organization or one of the network’s owned and operated stations.
