Hermes Creative Awards recently announced winners for the 2012 international awards competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media. Local advertising agency, K. Fernandez & Associates won three Platinum, four Gold and four Honorable Mention Hermes Awards for work on TXU Energy, USAgencies, InsureOne, Bertolli Olive Oil, Carapelli Olive Oil, the San Antonio Humane Society, Germania Insurance and the City of San Antonio Solid Waste Management Department.

Fernandez earned Platinums for the City of San Antonio Solid Waste Management Department’s Baladas de las Bolsas de Plástico :30 Spanish Radio spot, InsureOne’s Ring The Bell Spanish TV Campaign and USAgencies’ English Ring The Bell TV Campaign, while the Golds were earned for the City of San Antonio Solid Waste Management Department’s Let’s All Get Recycled TV PSA and The Return of the Plastic Bags Web Video, TXU Energy’s Illumina Spanish OOH Campaign and Carapelli Olive Oil’s Mexico Consumer Website www.carapelli.com.mx.
In the Solid Waste Management radio spot, Baladas de las Bolsas de Plástico, two radio listeners have fun talking about a Plastic Bag Hits CD featuring songs in different Spanish music styles such as Norteño and Rock en Español. Each song clip has catchy and memorable messages about plastic bag recycling that will keep you singing long after the spot’s over. With InsureOne and USAgencies, the Spanish and English TV spots feature the Big Savings Bell. Every time a customer saves money on their insurance policy, they get to ring the Big Savings Bell. Each spot shows employees and customers alike, ringing the bell. The campaign was so successful; both companies enjoyed a 20% increase in year over year sales and the most in-store foot traffic in 16 years!
