Keoseyan named VP of Content at Telemundo Los Angeles KVEA.

Telemundo Media announced the appointment of Ruben Keoseyan to Vice President of Content, Telemundo Los Angeles KVEA, effective immediately. Keoseyan will report to Celia Chavez, President and General Manager of KVEA, and will be based in Los Angeles.

In this role, Keoseyan will lead KVEA’s news department to solidify its competitive position in the market, ensuring the gathering and distribution of high quality news coverage across all platforms. In addition, he will be responsible for ensuring all local newscasts reflect and serve the needs and uniqueness of the Greater Los Angeles Hispanic community.

“Ruben is a recognized leader with solid journalistic integrity, extensive experience in the Los Angeles market and expertise in Spanish-language media overall,” said Chavez. “His leadership and insights will play a significant role in contributing to the ongoing success of KVEA’s news department.”

Previously, Keoseyan served as Executive Editor of the largest Spanish-language newspaper in the United States, La Opinión, since 2011. Keoseyan also worked with La Opinión from 2000-2005, as Managing Editor and was later promoted to Executive Editor.

Prior to this, he served as Publisher and Editor of the largest Spanish-language newspaper in the Midwest, La Raza, in Chicago, Illinois, a position he held until August of 2011. Keoseyan also served as Director of Primera Hora, a newspaper based in Puerto Rico.

During the 1990’s, Keoseyan worked at KEYT, Santa Barbara’s ABC affiliate, as News Simultaneous Interpreter. During this time, he founded the first 30-minute Spanish-language newscast in California’s central coast through an NBC affiliate. Keoseyan began his journalistic career as an intern for Grupo Televisa in Mexico, where he contributed to news reports for the network and learned sports commentary.
