Telemundo announced that it will broadcast “Kingpin,” a dramatic series about the struggles of a powerful family running a drug-cartel. The series, by two-time EMMY Award winner David Mills (“The Corner”, “ER”), will be telecast from April 9-11 and April 14-16, (10-11 p.m. ET/PT).

“Kingpin” includes many well known Spanish-language movie and novela stars including Eduardo Palomo and María Conchita Alonso, along with Yancey Arias and Bobby Cannavale.

“Spanish-language TV viewers tune in for dramas with families from all different walks of life; ‘Kingpin’ will remind them of an excellent Mexican movie. I urge people to watch it and enjoy the high quality value of entertainment this made for TV series provides,” said Jim McNamara, President, Telemundo.

The series is produced by NBC Studios and Spelling Televisión, Inc. David Mills, Aaron Spelling and E. Duke Vincent are executive producers. Dan Sackheim is co-executive producer. Allen Coulter directs the pilot episode from a script by Mills.
