KLASS Targets Hispanic With Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
November 13, 2004
KLASS Time becomes one of the newest supporters of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) by donating a portion of the sales of selected products purchased in 168 Wal-Mart stores in southern California, Arizona, Texas and Florida now through December. The KLASS campaign encourages the public to never drink and drive.
“MADD’s mission offers the perfect opportunity to show our concern and support for Hispanics. Hispanics rank second when it comes to alcohol related deaths. As our population increases, these numbers could too. We want to do something to prevent that,” says Gabriel Navarro, CEO of KLASS. Next to Native Americans, Mexican Americans have the highest alcohol-related fatality rates among all four types of road users: drivers, passengers, pedestrians and cyclists.
MADD National President, Wendy J. Hamilton, says, “MADD is grateful for the support of KLASS and its commitment to saving lives and preventing injuries. Drunk driving has no borders — it cuts across all social and cultural lines.”
