KMEX-TV ‘Premio Lo Nuestro a La Musica Latina’ Outshines the Competition.

KMEX-TV’s broadcast of the 18th annual “Premio Lo Nuestro a La Musica Latina,” which aired on Thursday, February 23, 2006, was the number one and two rated program among the Adult, Women and Men 18-34 and 18-49 demos, posting much higher ratings than every English-language program for the night. The awards program delivered higher ratings than “American Idol”, “Dancing with the Stars” and the Winter Olympics. KMEX-TV’s broadcast of “Premio Lo Nuestro” was watched by nearly one million viewers, averaging a much larger primetime audience than KABC, KCBS and KTTV.
“Premio Lo Nuestro” ranked among the top three rated specials of the year across all the key demos. The award programs highest demo ratings were among Adults 18-34, Women 18-34 and Men 18-34, where it ranked number one and outperformed KCBS-TV’s broadcast of the Grammy Awards and People’s Choice Awards, as well as KNBC-TV’s Golden Globe Awards. “Premio Lo Nuestro” continues to be one of the most successful properties for KMEX-TV.
